“Azaan” as we know is an Islamic Call to Salat (prayer). Here a muezzin (Islamic official) calls to prayer from the minaret of a mosque, 5 times daily.
According to the Islamic custom, as we look through the ages, Azaan (Adhan-in Arabic) is a mandatory practice, is a call to summon every Islamic individual for Namaz (offer prayer) 5 times a day. It has also been noted by scriptures, that Muhammad (Prophet of Islam) has taught that any person who does not follow the ritualistic practice on offering namaz, he is no longer a Muslim.
It is found mentioned in scriptures, that Muhammad ordered burning down Muslims alive who refused to offer 5 times daily namaz. (Ref: Bukhari 1.11.626, 617). What we can conclude here is that, forced religious practices have been the milestone built by the Islamic religion, and yet we call it a Religion of Peace.
Today, we are living in a country where we accept everything and everyone. We offer respect and welcome all with open arms, to live in harmony and peace. Azaan is still offered and we respect the sentiment who offers the same, but when a mode is used like a loudspeaker which disturbs others should be restricted. Religious practice, the religious summons should be restricted and confined so that others are not disturbed by it.
The noise which the Azaan creates it’s so loud that it feels as if it is not only meant to be for Islamic individuals but its meant to disturb Kafirs (non-Muslims) like us. This has become a man-made affirmation and a plot against people who tries to sleep.
Today, this has become a religious issue and not an environmental one, as Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam tweeted about Azaan and Muslim religion. It broke an outrage among the Islamic defenders. Nigam in his tweets mentioned that the sound of Azaan had woken him up from his sleep, though he is not against any religion but he states that this practice is one of “forced religiousness.”
God bless everyone. I’m not a Muslim and I have to be woken up by the Azaan in the morning. When will this forced religiousness end in India

There are no other religions where they use sound media to call everyone for prayers. Even in Hinduism or Sikhism, the sound is used in a restricted way so that it does not disturb the peace of others. Only in festivals, loudspeakers are used, but that too for a limited time. But what the Islamic individuals follow are one of the forced methods which grab us by the collar and force us to listen to Azaan, though we are not meant to.
So this is not religious Gundagardi.. https://t.co/5jyCmkt3pm

Is “Azaan” today a merely call for prayer? In a more radical way, it has become a call for violence and an assertion of religion. It might me an act of dominance too. The sound of Azaan is no more limited as a noise pollution, it has become an incursion of thought and faith!
